Join the fun this May half term at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, at our Family Gardening Festival with Burgon & Ball.

With family craft activities, garden trails, exciting entertainment and storytime adventures.

Garden admission applies. Free to RHS members and children under 5 (activities are included unless marked *).

Family Garden Trail

Saturday 25 May – Sunday 2 June

Explore a year of family gardening: handy tips on what to do and when, allowing everyone to get gardening together. Throughout the garden.

All ages (must be accompanied by an adult)

Family Story Yoga

29 May
11am, 12.30pm and 2pm


Growing into a Strong, Happy Plant, with Story Yoga

Drop in - First come first served - no booking required; suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult) 

Garden Detectives

28 and 30 May
11am, 12.30pm and 2pm, meet at the Learning Centre

Join the Garden Detectives for Gardening Tales, and learn about all the jobs we do in the garden

Recommended for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult)

Drop-in activities in the Learning Centre

Paper pots and sunflowers

27 and 31 May, 11am – 2pm

Craft a paper plant pot and sow a sunflower seed to take home and grow

Suitable for ages 3+ (must be accompanied by an adult)

Tomato planting

29 and 30 May, 11am – 2pm

Choose one of our expertly grown tomato plug plants, pot on into a larger pot to take home and nurture for lovely tomatoes all summer


Suitable for ages 3+ (must be accompanied by an adult)

Propagation workshop

28 May, 11am – 2pm 

Learn how to take cuttings from succulents to share with friends and family

Suitable for ages 3+ (must be accompanied by an adult)
