More new artists

Each year we seek out new and returning artists whose pieces capture the imagination and enhance the garden’s natural landscape and seasonal planting.

This year, the exhibition features the work of 40 sculptors from across the UK, including local artists from the West Country. Their sculptures range from fluid and hypnotic installations, to thought-provoking, large-scale pieces that will stop you in your tracks.

Big and bold

You won’t want to miss Big Cat by Steve Parsons, an artist who began his creative journey as a professional photographer first and a designer later. For 35 years, Steve designed award-winning jewellery, until he decided to start a new venture as his ultimate dream beckoned: transferring his design skills to the world of sculpture. His designs are very big and very bold, and the only restraints now are the limits of his imagination.

“Sculpture is excitingly tactile allowing me to push design boundaries in new and innovative ways. I love sculptures’ ability to create a space for expression and dialogue - both for the artist and the viewer.”

Steve Parsons, artist

Winter’s beauty

RHS Rosemoor’s winter landscape offers a serene and peaceful setting to enjoy the exhibition. As foliage turns and falls, the structural elements of the garden come to the fore, complemented by the careful placement of the sculptures.

The quality of winter light is an important consideration when looking for the ideal location. Under the soft rays of the low-angled sun, light and shade cast dramatic highlights, while frosty or misty weather adds a wonderful ethereal feel.

Living Sculpture Weekend

9 and 10 November 2024, and 25 and 26 January 2025: 11am – 3pm

Join us and Marvellous Eventures for the Living Sculpture Weekend. As the sun rises, the air becomes crisp and fallen leaves dance across the ground, the living statues come to life to entertain and enthral visitors. Why not stop a while, take in the atmosphere and be sure to interact with one of the six statues you can discover as you wander around the garden?

Sculpture in a new light

Come back by night to see many of the sculptures lit up as part of our enchanting Glow illuminations. Glow takes place on select evenings from 15 November to 30 December.
