Join the fun this May half term at RHS Garden Rosemoor, at our Family Gardening Festival with Burgon & Ball.

With family craft activities, garden trails, exciting entertainment and storytime adventures.

Garden admission applies. Free to RHS members and children under 5 (activities are included unless marked *).

Family Garden Trails

Saturday 25 May – Sunday 2 June

  • Explore a year of family gardening: handy tips on what to do and when, allowing everyone to get gardening together
  • Vegetable Hunter: how many different types of vegetables can you spot in our Fruit & Veg Garden? Can you find them all?

All ages (must be accompanied by an adult)

Fun family planting workshops

Tuesday 28 May
Drop-in sessions, Vegetable garden shelter


Paper pots and Tomato plants:
Find us in Mr McGregor's Garden and create your own paper pot for your new plant to nuture at home

Recommended for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult)

Gardener Lilly’s Story Time Adventure

Wednesday 29 May
Drop in sessions at 11am, 12noon, 2pm and 3pm, Cob Shelter


A delightful show from Head Gardener Lilly

Recommended for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult)

Flying with Strings, bird puppeteer*

Thursday 30 May
30 minute sessions: 11am, 12noon, 2pm, in the Small Garden Room

Inspired by the avian world of Britain, Europe and beyond, this interactive show features intricate string puppetry and live music. See the puppets in action and learn about the world of birds, including the graceful swallow, the charismatic hoopoe and the colourful bee-eater.

*£3 per child; recommended for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult)

Thursday 30 May
10.30am – 12.30pm, and 2pm – 3.45pm, Garden room


Make a cress seed chicken.

Suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult)

Bee and butterfly bath 

Friday 31 May
10.30am – 12.30pm, and 2pm – 3.45pm, Garden room


Create a dish from air drying clay and illustrate for the bees or butterflies in your garden, to allow them a safe drink whilst they are pollinating your plants

Suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult)
