Reflections; water, things on it and things in it. An exhibition of the sea, rivers, pools and estuaries.

This exhibition takes a common theme of water. Painted in acrylic on canvas or watercolour, the use of water enable the opportunities to explore reflections and reflected light to create vibrant images of the sea, rivers, pools and estuaries, in Devon, Cornwall and also further afield.

Pete Newell has exhibited at RHS Rosemoor a number of times previously and run some extremely popular workshops, sketching, drawing and painting in the garden. Pete's painting process is to draw outside in the landscape, starting with boats, quaysides and shorelines. Other components of the view and coastal flora often creep in, sea holly, marram grass or lichen for example, often going on to become subjects in their own right.

Pete has exhibited widely including four times at the Royal Society of Marine Artists in the Mall galleries in London. Your can see more of his work at www.petenewellpaintings.uk

You can join Pete at RHS Rosemoor for two drawing and painting courses:
Spring Drawing Day, 21 May 2025
Late Summer Drawing Day, 10 September 2025
