July is a wonderful time to get to know and harvest some of the plants that can be used to prepare herbal remedies. In this mid-summer period, many plants are at their peak growth, and harvesting them at this time will allow you to preserve their potency for later use. We will be looking particularly at herbs that can help with a variety of seasonal illnesses such as sore throats, coughs and colds.

During the afternoon, we will enjoy a tour of medicinal herbs growing at RHS Garden Rosemoor, then make a herbal remedy to take home. Handouts will be provided about the herbs, including some recipes that you can try at home.

Roberta Hutchins has been practicing as a medical herbalist for 20 years. She has previously run a similar workshop in her own herb garden as well as a series of workshops on herbal medicine for self care. This is Roberta’s second workshop at RHS Rosemoor.

Please bring with you:

  • Your booking reference number
  • A notebook and pencil to make notes
  • Camera (or mobile phone for photos)

All materials provided. Refreshments included.

Tutor: Roberta Hutchins
