Rosemoor Live – Barrett's Privateers

From the deep, resonating notes of the father and son bass to the high notes of the girls, Barrett's Privateers have delighted audiences throughout Cornwall and beyond with their broad, rich harmonies. Look forward to hearing songs of the sea, shanties, traditional folk, Cornish and mining songs, at this live performance at RHS Garden Rosemoor. 

Based on the Cornish side of the beautiful Tamar Valley, the band formed with the desire to maintain a tradition of singing in pubs, while also bringing their brand of acapella singing to new audiences. Since 2019, the group have performed at a range of events, from the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival to singing under the Christmas garland at Cotehele to the highly acclaimed Rock Oyster Festival.

Despite being varied in age, Barrett’s Privateers take each song and make it their own, with the voices of each band member finding a way to complement its neighbour through the joy of singing together. The power and harmony within their lively performances are both enjoyable and hugely entertaining.

During the evening's entertainment, a fully stocked bar with everything a thirsty fisherman might need is available courtesy of The Liquor Box and outdoor catering. This event takes place in our Garden Room, a mostly standing event with some relaxed seating and the use of the Restaurant Terrace, which has outdoor covered seating.
