With gardening, horticulture and education firmly at the heart of what we do, the Absolute Beginners series of workshops has been designed and developed by the RHS for anyone who is new to gardening and keen to learn more.

Encouraging, and living with, wildlife in our gardens is important. We need insects for pollination, and other garden creatures for nutrient cycling and as natural predators. Learn how to support and attract wildlife to your garden, what you can plant to encourage wildlife and how to make the most of the wildlife that inhabits your green space.

These workshops will be taught by Ian Smith, RHS Garden Advisor, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure that you leave the session feeling more confident at gardening and with skills that you can go home and put into practice straight away.

Please bring with you:
  • Your booking reference number
  • A notebook and pencil to make notes
  • Camera (or mobile phone for photos)
All materials provided. Tea/coffee included.

Tutor: Ian Smith

This is the last of five Absolute Beginners workshops this year. We plan to repeat and increase in 2025 if uptake has been positive.
