We are open today, Thursday 21 November, although we are cancelling today’s course (A Year In Your Garden) and are running a reduced menu in the restaurant and cafe – please be careful on the roads.

This lovely round basket is a perfect starter project if you are new to willow and would like to create something that is both beautiful and 100% functional. Created especially for beginners, you will learn some traditional English techniques and use willow grown on the Somerset Levels to create your own basket. At the end of the day, you will be able to take home your completed round basket.

With over a decade of teaching experience, full time basketmaker Sarah Le Breton is incredibly passionate about sharing her heritage craft. As well as making a lovely and useful basket today, Sarah's aim is to enthuse, energise and inspire you.

Please bring with you:
  • Your booking reference number
  • A notebook and pencil to make notes
  • Camera (or mobile phone for photos)
  • Secateurs
  • Gloves if you wish to wear them
Please wear old clothes and layers. Willow work is very active and you might get quite warm.
  • To gain the most from this workshop, a good level of mobility as well as finger dexterity and hand strength is essential.
All materials provided. Lunch and refreshments included.

Tutor: Sarah Le Breton
