- Hidden speakers, microphones and a drop-down screen for showing films bring this garden alive and extend its usefulness.
- Flagstones and wall cladding are made from recycled materials.
- Clever ideas throughout the garden make the best use of all the available spaces
Gardens of the future will need to make smart use of space and water: The Live Garden demonstrates how a small space can be transformed into an exciting, engaging and unique residential garden by using three different levels to create extra space.
The live element and the use of sound are inspired by the study of cymatics – in which resonance is made visible. Key features include a seating area with projector screen, a wall of raised beds (inspired by the soundwaves created by buzzing bees), a subterranean retreat with mood lighting, water feature, a bespoke sculpture, and a balcony garden.
