Join us for a celebration of growing and cooking, with live cookery demos, edible garden tours, food markets and expert advice on growing your own – a true feast for your senses!

Our fabulous food event – Festival of Flavours – returns to RHS Garden Bridgewater from 13 to 15 September. Enjoy a wonderful autumn day out and get take-home tips from chefs and local food producers, browse food and drink stalls and take Kitchen Garden tours.

Activities included with garden admission. Free to RHS members and children under 5.

Get inspired to grow and cook

Relish flavours from around the world with live cookery demonstrations by RHS staff, volunteers and renowned chefs, including TV chef and writer Ching-He Huang MBE and Harwoods Patisserie, finalists of Bake Off: The Professionals 2023. They’ll share recipes and tips to help you create delicious dishes using ingredients picked fresh from our Kitchen Garden, including wholefood and vegan recipes.

Feeling inspired? Excite your senses while browsing stalls of tempting food and drink from local producers and pick up ingredients to cook up at home.

Friday 13 September – Drop into the Propagation House between 11am and 1pm and chat with RHS Horticulturist Lisa Hudson about propagating plants.

Friday 13 and Saturday 14 September – Join RHS Horticulturists at 11.15am and 1.45pm for a guided walk around the Kitchen Garden.

Each day – Our team of RHS Garden Advisors will be on hand each day to answer your gardening questions.

Inspiring talks

From beekeeping to leading ‘The Good Life’, discover how to grow and nurture your own tasty ingredients with an exciting line-up of talks.

Hear from the makers of honey, preserves and cheese, and sample their tasty produce while learning how they are made. Taste rum with Salford Rum and discover more about the history of the company.

Early-flowering Chrysanthemum Show

Sunday 15 September
11am – 5pm, Learning Studios


Discover the beauty and colour of early-flowering chrysanthemums at this special show by regional growers from the National Chrysanthemum Society. Get advice and top tips from our friendly experts and enjoy the prize-winning exhibits on display.

Celebrate the Chinese Festival of the Moon

Saturday 14 September
11am and 2pm, Learning Studios

Kids can enjoy traditional storytelling about the Chinese Festival of the Moon. Suitable for ages 7+.

Tuesday 17 September
Drop in 2.30pm – 5pm, Learning Studios and garden

Relax with a session of Tai Chi and a Chinese tea ceremony.
