Due to the yellow weather warning, the Chinese Streamside Garden, Middle Wood and Woodland Play will be closed today, Saturday 21 December. The Walled Garden, Welcome Garden, Bridgewater Café and Garden Centre remain open as usual, and RHS Glow will go ahead with a diverted route to avoid affected areas. Please check back for updates.

Booking garden visits

Due to ongoing high demand to visit RHS Garden Bridgewater, we’re asking all visitors, including members, to pre-book their visit to the garden. RHS members go free – Find garden admission prices here. Please book mobility scooters and wheelchairs in advance of booking a garden time slot to ensure availability (information below).

Please note: No pre-booking is required for the Garden Centre or Affiliated Societies using their 50% discount card.

Salford free Tuesdays

Until 18 May 2025, entrance to the garden is free for Salford residents every Tuesday. Pre-booking is required and proof of address for each resident must be shown on arrival. Each Tuesday, more than 1000 free tickets are available for Salford residents. We release tickets each week so if there is currently no availability please try again next week.

Visit RHS Gardens for £1

At the RHS, we’re keen to share the joy of gardening with as many people as possible. If you receive any of the following benefits, you’ll be able to visit RHS Garden Bridgewater for just £1:

  • Universal Credit
  • Pension Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

You can book £1 tickets for yourself and up to five people coming with you. This can be a mixture of children and adults. Only one member of the party needs to be receiving benefits. You will need to present proof of your benefits on arrival at the garden. Pre-booking is required.

Please note: This offer applies to standard garden entry only and is not valid on separately ticketed events such as RHS Glow.

The £1 ticket scheme is one of the many ways we are making our gardens more accessible. Up to two carers with a disabled visitor, schoolchildren on guided and self-guided school visits, under 5s, affiliated horticultural societies and community groups supported by the RHS Community Outreach programme can all visit RHS Gardens for free.
