About the garden

Uncover 154 acres of glorious gardens close to Salford’s historical Bridgewater Canal. As our newest garden, RHS Garden Bridgewater continues to evolve with help from award-winning designers and the local community. The contemporary Worsley Welcome Garden greets everyone with its architectural topiary and lush seasonal planting.

From here on, it’s up to your group what to discover next. Step inside the walls of the Paradise Garden with its awe-inspiring blend of Mediterranean and Asiatic planting. Treat your senses to the abundant Kitchen Garden or follow the winding paths of the Chinese Streamside Garden.

  • Free refreshment voucher and entry to the garden for the coach driver (not applicable on RHS Affiliated Society group bookings)
  • Access to mobility aids to assist your group around our gardens (refundable deposit required)
  • Two carer places free of charge for those accompanying visitors whose disability necessitates their support
  • RHS members in-group receive free entrance to the garden and can bring one guest free of charge
  • RHS Affiliated Societies receive one free visit as a group per year to one RHS Garden for up to a maximum of 55 visitors

*Garden admission prices are based on groups of 15 or more arriving by coach/minibus. **Garden admission VIP prices are based on groups of 14 or less, and don’t vary in price depending on the adult and child ratio of the group.

Walled Garden tour

Experience a private guided tour of one of the largest Victorian walled gardens in the UK. Experienced Volunteer Guides will lead you through the inner and outer walled gardens, providing an insight into the garden’s journey from its original incarnation to the current horticultural heart of RHS Bridgewater.

Music Pavilion

Chinese Streamside tour

RHS Volunteer Guides will introduce you to the unique, Chinese-inspired garden. View the remarkable Music Pavilion, the first of four interlinked pavilions that will make up The Scholar’s Garden, a project that draws inspiration from classical Chinese garden design. Follow the sinuous path across five stylised wooden bridges to enjoy the stream, pools and weirs that meander slowly from Ellesmere Lake to Moon Bridge Water.
