RHS Rose Tea Garden

Feature Garden

The Festival of Roses is synonymous with traditional English gardens that reach their beautiful best in the heart of summer. Alongside this feature at Hampton is the RHS Rose Tea Garden – the perfect place to catch your breath, meet with friends and enjoy refreshments surrounded by breathtaking blooms.

This year Pollyanna Wilkinson has designed the planting for this enchanting rose garden, which is celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It is packed with David Austin roses, with one cultivar for each decade of Her Majesty’s reign.

The colour theme wraps around the garden from pure white Rosa ‘Desdemona’ to pale pink ‘Elizabeth’, bright and cheerful ‘Olivia Rose Austin’, to deep and saturated ‘Gabriel Oak’. Complementary shrubs and low-level planting help create an informal and romantic garden style.
