The garden is a conceptual space to highlight the great work conducted by Over The Wall (OTW) children’s charity and Japanese healthcare company Takeda, who support children living with rare and serious illnesses or disability, and their families.
Over The Wall champions the voices of these children and encourages them to reach beyond the boundaries of their illness and discover a world of mischief, magic and new possibilities.
Inspired by this, the circular garden invites visitors to step ‘over the wall’ and enter an uplifting, joyful space. A winding path leads visitors towards a ‘sunrise’ circular opening in the wall, symbolising new possibilities. On the way, they pass vivid planting, which references the colours of the charity’s Brilliance Beads (awarded to children who attend OTW camps), and elements of Japanese aesthetic representing Takeda’s Japanese heritage.
