Paradise Retained imagines how a paradise for wildlife and humans can persist even in a front garden incorporating a parking space.
Inspired by lockdown tales of brightly-planted front gardens making passers-by smile, this garden features year-round uplifting colours and playful elements. A parking space is transformed into a whimsical ‘quilt’ using brightly coloured SUDS-compliant parking tiles; the bespoke durable enamelled copper wall hanging echoes the planting colours and tiles.
A surprise miniature wild driveway garden at the quilt’s centre, bare-stemmed urban tree and wall trellises maximise planting opportunities in this restricted space.
