Preston Railway Free Buffet for Soldiers and Sailors
Willow sculptures depicting the volunteers who supported servicemen at Preston railway station
Show Features
During the First World War, as soldiers and sailors passed through the railway station in Preston, they were greeted by a team of women, volunteering their time to serve the servicemen with hot drinks. These willow sculptures, made by people of all generations, pay tribute to those women, as well as the men.
