Mother’s Day at RHS Gardens

RHS Garden Bridgewater

Greater Manchester
Spring is in the air at Bridgewater and there is promise of great things. Buds are swelling everywhere, and the first of several thousand bulbs bring unbeatable colour to the Weston Walled Garden.

The Bee and Butterfly Garden comes alive with the hum of pollinators feasting on seasonal blooms, and rhododendrons, hellebores and primroses flower in Lower Middle Wood.

Discover exotic blooms from warmer climes in the Mediterranean House of our Paradise Garden, and keep an eye out for the first tulips bursting into flower.

Round off your day with delicious seasonal food in the Bridgewater Café or recharge with savoury bites and bakery treats from the Stables Café.

RHS Garden Harlow Carr

North Yorkshire
An uplifting spring welcome awaits you at Harlow Carr. Not far from the garden entrance, the Heather Beds provide a glorious tapestry of colour, delighting both visitors and pollinators alike.

Swathes of daffodils shine on the Woodland edge and around the Queen Mother’s Lake. The golden glow continues along Streamside, where clumps of cheering marsh marigold begin to flower.

There are more seasonal delights to discover in the Woodland, where magnolias and early-flowering rhododendrons give a fantastic show of blooms.

Why not treat mum to afternoon tea in Bettys Café Tea Rooms or fill up on tempting sweet treats from Bettys Tea House and Bettys Shop.

RHS Garden Hyde Hall

Essex
Spring is in full bloom at Hyde Hall. The Robinson Garden is alive with colour from its carpet of bright yellow daffodils nodding alongside sumptuous hellebores.

There are drifts of daffodils to delight across the garden. Spectacular blooms light up the Woodland Garden – it’s a heady mix of camellias, magnolias and rhododendrons, including some rare specimens, at this time of year.

Venture out into the wider estate for a springtime stroll around the Wildwood, surrounded by lemon-yellow primroses, delicate catkins and glorious birdsong.

Make your day extra special with our carvery or enjoy afternoon tea in the charming Thatched Barn. Pre-booking essential for the carvery and afternoon teas. Apologies, these are now SOLD OUT, but walk-ins will be available in the Clover Café and Gardeners Rest Restaurant.

RHS Garden Rosemoor

Devon
March is a fabulous time to visit Rosemoor. At every turn, buds of fresh green are breaking, spring bulbs are showing their faces and flowering trees and shrubs offer a feast for the eyes.

The dramatic flowers of magnolias take their turn to shine. Delightful specimens smothered in blooms provide a striking backdrop to the Winter Garden, underplanted with a medley of spring flowers.

Across the garden, a mass of glorious daffodils are spilling from pots, flowing through borders and dancing in the meadow areas.

Treat yourself to lunch or enjoy a scrumptious afternoon tea in the Garden Kitchen Restaurant. There are tempting cakes and savoury snacks available all day.

RHS Garden Wisley

Surrey
There is so much to see in spring at Wisley. Carpets of early spring bulbs are at their peak, including more than 200,000 crocus on the Conifer Lawn in harmonious shades of purple and white.

In the Pinetum, large drifts of daffodils bring dazzling colour under the majestic pines, and the Alpine Meadow is teeming with dainty spring blooms.

Head to Battleston Hill to discover a kaleidoscope of colour from breathtaking magnolias and camellias, while clouds of enchanting cherry blossom shine across the garden.
