Getting here by train

Trains to Manchester Piccadilly and Walkden Stations

Manchester Piccadilly has direct trains running across the country as far as London Euston and Reading in the south, Scarborough in the east, Glasgow and Edinburgh in the north, and south-west Wales. From the west, visitors can travel into Walkden station, the closest station to RHS Bridgewater, which is approx. a 25-minute train journey from Wigan.

X50 extension to RHS Bridgewater

The temporary X50 extension from central Manchester to RHS Bridgewater via the Trafford Centre ended on 29 September 2024. 

The RHS are working closely with TfGM to improve public bus services to the garden. Please check back for more updates in 2025.
