Marcus Chilton-Jones, Curator of RHS Garden Bridgewater, celebrates the labour of love that has helped to create the garden

A welcome message from Marcus Chilton-Jones, Curator

Welcome to RHS Garden Bridgewater. The herculean task of restoring, regenerating and replanting Bridgewater has been a labour of love for staff, volunteers and contractors. Their hard work, the vision of award-winning designers and the extraordinary heritage of the site has brought us to the point where we can open the gates to share this truly inspiring garden.

There is so much to see – the Weston Walled Garden contains multiple garden rooms, setting the tone for a journey of exploration with colourful themed borders, complementary sub-gardens each exploring a different horticultural style and characterful listed buildings. The wider woodland, meadows and lakes further your enjoyment.

Year-round atmosphere

Woodland Play will delight children, while a stroll through Worsley Welcome Garden and the emerging Chinese Streamside Garden offer time for relaxation and thought. Ellesmere Lake and Middle Wood have a serene atmosphere no matter the time of year.

We hope you enjoy your visit, and look forward to welcoming you back as the team further develop the horticultural potential of this special place.
