Without the help of our incredible supporters, we couldn’t bring RHS Garden Bridgewater to life. The RHS thanks Salford City Council and Peel L&P for their support in making this garden possible.

Jim Taylor – Salford City Council

Creating the new garden: “RHS Garden Bridgewater is a game changing project and significant investment opportunity for both Salford and the North West. As well as creating an outstanding visitor attraction, the garden will provide skills development, career opportunities, volunteering programmes and a learning centre. The RHS and the City Council are both committed to ensuring local communities are fully engaged in and benefit from the garden.”

Creating the new garden: “RHS Garden Bridgewater is the perfect opportunity to bring our historic Bridgewater Estate and the former Worsley New Hall site back to life while encouraging sustainability, promoting wellbeing and preserving an important piece of history in a new world-class attraction. This is a real legacy project for Peel L&P that will boost the northern economy, create skills, jobs and provide an amazing facility that can be enjoyed by people and families in Salford and beyond."

Philippa Charles – The Garfield Weston Foundation

The Weston Walled Garden: "Our Trustees are delighted to support RHS Garden Bridgewater and anticipate it will provide many opportunities in the North West, such as jobs, volunteering, education and training. We hope the beautiful 'Weston Walled Garden' will be a jewel in the centre of the project – it's a quintessential secret garden that will be accessible to all."

Lisbet Rausing – Arcadia

The lakes and biodiversity: "RHS Garden Bridgewater will prove an invaluable asset for both local wildlife and people. We’re delighted to be a playing a role in the garden’s development by helping to restore the historic lake, construct a new lake and support other work to secure and improve its biodiversity.”

Dr Lee Kai Hung – The Chinese Streamside Garden Founding Committee

The Chinese Streamside Garden: “This unique project will create a legacy for the people of Greater Manchester, celebrating the importance of Chinese horticulture for the development of UK gardens over the last 300 years. This garden symbolises a blend of multi-cultural characteristics in a peaceful woodland setting, creating a stunning legacy for generations to come.”

The late Michael Oglesby, CBE DL – The Oglesby Charitable Trust

The Woodland: "The ambition and scale of RHS Garden Bridgewater is impressive. It looks set to be a real asset for people locally and nationally, for generations to come. As a charity committed to greening our city region, we’re delighted to enhance our support for City of Trees and the Northern Forest, by helping to develop the woodland within the RHS site. We look forward to the innumerable benefits this will deliver."

National Lottery Heritage Fund – North

The Potting Sheds: Richard Green, Head of Site, Bridgewater: “It’s perfect that we can use the original Potting Sheds to share the exciting history of our garden, from skating on the frozen lake to scout escapades, we know there are a wealth of stories out there that will bring the garden to life and inspire new generations to create their own memories into the future. We're so grateful to National Lottery players and The National Lottery Heritage Fund for supporting this project.”

Rural Payments Agency

Welcome Building: The Rural Payments Agency (via the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development) have kindly supported the construction of the new Welcome Building. This funding will provide RHS Garden Bridgewater with catering, retail and educational facilities.

Anthony Preston – The Preston Family Charitable Settlement

Creating the new garden: "It's heartening to see that the RHS and Salford City Council are creating such a fantastic facility for the area. Bridgewater will be greatly enjoyed and appreciated by many generations of people within and outside the area."

Jo Harrison – United Utilities

Creating the new garden: “We’re honoured and thrilled to be supporting this wonderful new garden here in the North West. Our commitment to sustainable development and supporting our local community is a great fit with everything the RHS is looking to achieve at Bridgewater. We're excited to be working together to learn and explore how we can better manage either too much water, or too little, sharing ideas that could shape urban developments in the future.”
