Come along after hours for our first RHS Garden Bridgewater late of 2024. View an exhibition in the Potting Sheds by BA Fashion and Promotion students from the University of Salford. The students have been working with members of our horticultural team on how they stamp their own style on the uniforms and garments they wear while carrying out their roles in the garden. The project is documented with photographs and videos and the students will be on hand to talk about their experiences.

On your visit, enjoy a drink and light refreshments from the Shepherds Hut and Stables Café and sit around the Garden Cottage and Café areas ready to watch a fashion show. Produced by the Manchester Fashion Movement (MFM), it challenges the narrative of how we view and treat garments today.

MFM encourages people in everyday conversations to understand how they can play their part in making more considered choices to support positive outcomes for people and the planet. The Sustainable Fashion Party events curated by Creative Director, Alison Carlin, showcase greener fashion solutions and optimistic shifts, prompting an emotional connection in response to the climate crisis. Explore interactive elements that aim to leave a memorable impression that encourages individual action.

This sustainable fashion event called Horti CULTURED, Growing a Sustainable Fashion Future, will take guests on a journey from seed to garment, self-expression and as always celebrating independent northern creatives who champion better fashion habits.

Towards the end of the evening relax in the beautiful garden and enjoy watching as the sun begins to set.
