In this design, the garden is treated as a platform for thought. The four sculptural willow limbs, cleaved from a single old trunk create blank pages, inviting the viewer to ‘character’ their own new narrative from something that has gone before. The garden echoes the action of Shakespeare’s As you Like it.
The round recycled wood platforms float dreamlike above low planting, encouraging the mind to wander into the realms of new possibilities. The abstract movement created by the weave of the hazel hurdles draws the viewer into the garden to partake in a journey of discovery. Emphasis on the use of recycled materials, traditional craftsmanship and environmentally sustainable planting bring another ecological dimension to this space.
