Spring into RHS Gardens for just £1 during National Lottery Open Week

Enjoy the beauty of spring at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Gardens for just £1 thanks to this year’s National Lottery Open Week (15 to 23 March 2025).

As spring unfurls, visiting RHS Gardens is a very special time to experience the beauty of nature, discovering plants with early beautiful blooms, enjoying the fresh air with family and friends, connecting with wildlife, and being inspired to embrace the new gardening year with a host of fresh ideas.

During National Lottery Open Week, visitors to the spectacular RHS gardens – RHS Bridgewater in Greater Manchester, RHS Harlow Carr in Yorkshire, RHS Hyde Hall in Essex, RHS Rosemoor in Devon and RHS Wisley in Surrey – who present a digital or physical National Lottery ticket, Scratchcard or Instant Win game will pay just £1 admission per person for up to four people.

Across all five RHS Gardens experience pockets of vibrant colour, from the bright blue puschkinias to luscious yellow daffodils, the spectacular blooms of camelias and early star magnolias to the dainty blossom from cherry trees, and an abundance of early spring flowering bulbs including carpets of crocuses. Young visitors can enjoy the interactive Guess How Much I Love You™ trail in all five gardens, bouncing, hopping and stretching their arms wide like Little Nutbrown Hare, while exploring colours, textures and shapes and learning about nature, growing and the changing seasons.

Open Week is the National Lottery’s annual celebration of players. It is a way for National Lottery funded venues to say thank you for the £30 million raised for good causes every week by offering free entry, discounts and exclusive deals at attractions across the UK.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund has supported the RHS Gardens in many important ways, including free gardening activities and events in local communities. The restoration of the historic laboratory at RHS Wisley and the creation of a centre for horticultural science and learning were also made possible via a grant from the Fund.

As the UK’s largest gardening charity, the RHS wants to share the joy of gardening with as many people as possible, and people who receive a range of income support benefits, including Universal and Pension Credit, can visit RHS Gardens for just £1 per visit all year round.
