Shuttle bus to RHS Garden Wisley: Frequently asked questions

Tickets can be purchased on-board the bus via contactless card payments. 

The RHS is committed to supporting car-free travel to RHS Wisley for everyone. Shuttle bus ticket prices are the same for all adults including carers and members, and operate on a first come first serve basis. 

Please note: The shuttle bus will not operate between 24–26 December 2024, or on 1 January 2025.

Bus tickets and Oyster cards are not accepted on the shuttle bus service, the only form of payment is by contactless card on-board the service. 

At Woking Train Station, the shuttle bus stop is located at the designated coach pick-up point outside M&S. This is on your right-hand side as you exit the station from platforms 5 and 6, not the high street entrance or exit. The shuttle bus drop-off and pick-up points are at the same location. The shuttle bus stop has no sheltered area.



At RHS Wisley, the shuttle bus stop is located in the coach park. The shuttle bus drop-off and pick-up points are at the same location. The shuttle bus stop has no sheltered area.

Temporary shuttle bus stop: In Ripley, travelling to RHS Wisley, the shuttle bus picks up from the bus stop opposite the Post Office. Travelling from RHS Wisey, the shuttle bus drops off at the bus stop outside the Post Office. Both stops have seating and a shelter.

Timetable varies depending on date of visit, please check details below before you travel.

Timetable – from 6 January 2025

• Woking Train Station departs: 9am, then hourly until 5pm (excluding 1pm)
• Ripley Post Office (opposite) pick up: 9.15am, then hourly until 5.15pm (excluding 1.15pm)
• RHS Wisley arrives: 9.25am, then hourly until 5.25pm (excluding 1.25pm)
• RHS Wisley departs: 9.30am, then hourly until 5.30pm (excluding 12.30pm)
• Ripley Post Office (opposite) drop off: 9.35am, then hourly until 5.35pm (excluding 12.35pm)
• Woking Train Station arrives: 9.55am, then hourly until 5.55pm (excluding 12.55pm)

If the shuttle bus is full or if you miss a bus you will need to wait for the next service, alternatively local taxi firms ABCO and Network Cars offer fares to RHS Wisley from Woking Train Station for £14 one way, please call 01483 888888 to book.

The shuttle buses are fully accessible and equipped with a lift and one wheelchair space.

Buggies should be collapsed and stored in the wheelchair space on the bus, if it is not in use.

Bikes cannot be accommodated on our shuttle bus service due to limited space. Does your bike fold up? If it can fit in the luggage pen and you can lift it in and out yourself, you can bring it on the bus.

We welcome registered assistance dogs on our shuttle bus service at all times, and only registered assistance dogs are allowed into RHS Wisley.

There are no toilet facilities on the shuttle bus. Customers can find toilets located at Woking Train Station on platforms 2, 4 and 5, and at RHS Wisley in the Welcome Building.

All seats on the shuttle bus service are fitted with seatbelts, which passengers highly recommend using while the bus is in transit.

Standing is not permitted on the shuttle bus.

The RHS has contracted Woking Community Transport to run the shuttle bus service. Woking Community Transport is a not-for-profit operator, who has previously supported RHS Wisley with bus services and has proven to provide a reliable, friendly and affordable service.

Shopping is part of the experience at RHS Wisley, while there is space at your feet and in the aisle for shopping, there is limited space available for storage on the shuttle bus. If one of our drivers feels like your luggage is creating a safety risk, they unfortunately be able to let you bring it on the shuttle bus.

Plants can also be purchased via the online plant shop and delivery is available to all UK mainland addresses and UK islands.
