New bridge into RHS Wisley

A new dedicated bridge leading into RHS Garden Wisley is now open. If travelling by car, visitors who would normally access RHS Wisley from the A3 (onto Wisley Lane) will now use Ockham Park roundabout and follow new signage taking them onto the new bridge and over the A3 to the existing RHS Wisley entrance.

If you’d usually reach the garden travelling north on the A3 (from the direction of Guildford)
If you’d usually reach the garden travelling south on the A3 (from the direction of London)
If you live locally you may now be able to access RHS Wisley without travelling on the A3

Getting here car-free and saving on garden entry

Make the journey to the part of your day out. Opt for public transport, bike, or foot to get to the garden and leave your car at home. This will entitle you to a 30% discount on the garden entry fee. Train to Woking Station with South Western Railway

South Western Railway offer regular fast trains to Woking from London Waterloo in as little as 25 minutes. Woking Station is also easy to reach from Portsmouth, Weymouth, Basingstoke and Exeter St David’s.

Shuttle bus

Daily shuttle bus from Woking

Jump on the daily RHS Wisley shuttle bus from Woking train station (exit the station from platform 5, not the high street) via Ripley High Street and reach the garden in as little as 20 minutes, for only £2 one way. The bus stop at RHS Wisley is close to the garden entrance and café.

Tickets are purchased via contactless card payment on board the bus.

Announcement: Friday 4 April 2025 will be the last day the shuttle bus from Woking Station operates. From Saturday 5 April 2025, the 462 and 463 public buses, which run between Guildford and Woking, will stop at RHS Wisley’s new bus stop. More information available soon.

Other bus services, stops and routes

The RHS Wisley shuttle bus stops outside the Post Office in Ripley. From here you can catch the 715 bus to Guildford and Kingston, and the 462 / 463 busses to Guilford and Woking.

New: 462 / 463 bus service to RHS Wisley from Saturday 5 April 2025

From Saturday 5 April 2025, the 462 and 463 buses that run between Woking and Guildford will stop at RHS Wisley. Buses will stop at RHS Wisley’s new bus stop hourly throughout the day, Monday to Sunday, in both directions. More information available soon.

Getting here by coach

Coach travel is a convenient option if you live a little further away. Sit back and relax while someone else does the driving. Coach day trips from around the UK arrive at Wisley every day. Contact your local coach operator and ask them the date of their next RHS Wisley visit, and remember to let them know if you’re an RHS member.

Getting here by bike

RHS Wisley is surrounded by beautiful cycling routes that take you through Ockham and Wisley commons. Close by is the National Trust Wey Navigation towpath, which is shared by walkers and careful cyclists, and National Cycle Route 221, connecting the Wey Navigations to Basingstoke Canal and Woking and Brookwood rail stations.

  • Bike parking – Covered bike parking facilities can be found along the footpath adjacent to Car Park 2 in front of the Welcome building
  • Cycle repair station – We have a cycle repair station located at the cycle hut at the edge of Car Park 2. Features include a cycle repair stand with an integrated floor pump and heavy-duty tools

Getting here by car

The garden lies between Cobham and Ripley in Surrey, just off the A3 and south of Junction 10 of the M25. Follow the brown tourist flower signs on the A3 and M25 for RHS Wisley. Car parking is free.
 

Charging your electric vehicle

We have eight standard 7.2 KWH 32 Amp sockets in operation, supplied by EV Charge Online. There is a charge of 45p per KWH. Chargers are located in Car Park 1 – as you enter the car park, take the first left and the chargers are located on the fourth row.
