Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare are hopping over to RHS Garden Hyde Hall in 2025. Starting in February half term, and lasting all year, enjoy discovering an interactive garden trail and activities based on the well-loved children’s book Guess How Much I Love You™.

With storytelling walks and planting and craft workshops too, there’s plenty to keep all the family busy this holiday.

Garden admission applies; free to RHS members and children under 5. Children aged 5–16 only £5 entry. Additional charges apply to activities marked *.

Guess How Much I Love You™ – A Garden Adventure

Daily, from Saturday 15 February until the end of 2025

Starting on Saturday 15 February and continuing all year, explore the Guess How Much I Love You™ – A Garden Adventure trail following Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare around the garden. Bounce, hop and stretch like Little Nutbrown Hare, investigate colours, textures and shapes found in the garden, and learn about nature, growing and the changing seasons.

Bringing the beautiful story and illustrations to our gardens, the RHS have partnered with Walker Books for the 30th anniversary celebration of Guess How Much I Love You™ by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram.

Craft workshops*

Monday 17 and Wednesday 19 February
45-minute sessions at 10.15am, 11.15am, 12.45pm and 1.30pm, Hilltop Lodge


Get stuck into three fun craft activities in the Hilltop Lodge.

Face painting*

Monday 17 and Wednesday 19 February
10.15am – 2.30pm, Hilltop Lodge

Trudles Doodles face painting is back by popular demand. Choose from a range of designs to transform into your favourite character or animal.

*£5 per child. First come, first served (must be accompanied by an adult)

Storytelling walk

Tuesday 18 February
Sessions at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm, meet at Welcome Building


Enjoy an interactive storytelling adventure walk around the garden with capitvating storyteller Mike Dodsworth.

Recommended for ages 3+ (must be accompanied by an adult)

Planting workshops*

Friday 21 February
30-minute sessions at 10.15am, 11am, 11.45am, 1pm and 1.45pm, Hilltop Lodge

Join us in the Hilltop Lodge to get your hands dirty in this fun planting activity, where you’ll learn how to make a paper pot, create your own plant label, plant carrot seeds and discover how to take care of them when you get home.

*£2.50 per child. Recommended for ages 3+ (must be accompanied by an adult). Booking essential:

Kids visit RHS Gardens for £5 or less!

We’ve reduced the cost of garden entry for kids aged 5 to 16 years to just £5, and under 5s go for free. Adults can also save up to 25% on garden entry when booking tickets online in advance.
