Trains to Wickford, South Woodham Ferrers and Chelmsford train stations

The closest stations to RHS Hyde Hall are Wickford, which is approx. five miles, and South Woodham Ferrers, which is approx. three miles. RHS Hyde Hall Hailstone shuttle bus

Shuttle bus: April – August

Hop on the shuttle bus connecting Chelmsford and Wickford train stations to the stunning RHS Hyde Hall – look for the bus labelled Hailstone Travel. Running on weekends (every Saturday and Sunday), all bank holidays (excluding Monday 5 May 2025), and during the vibrant RHS Hyde Hall Flower Show (30 July–3 August 2025), this hassle-free service operates from 18 April to 31 August 2025.

All shuttle bus tickets must be pre-booked in advance.

Other bus services, stops and routes

Jump on the No. 3 bus, which runs to RHS Hyde Hall from Chelmsford bus station and Southend travel centre via Rayleigh, Battlesbridge, Hadleigh, Leigh on Sea, and Rettendon. This bus service stops a couple of times a day, Monday–Saturday (except bank holidays), between March and November.

RHS Hyde Hall is conveniently located just 20 minutes from the centre of Chelmsford and is signposted from the A130 (southbound). Sat Nav – CM3 8ET. Car parking is free.

  • From the M25: Leave the M25 at junction 29 for A127 (Southend). From the A127 exit onto the A132 (Wickford/South Woodham Ferrers)
  • From the A12: Leave at junction 17, then at the roundabout take the second exit for the A130 (Southend/Basildon)
  • From the A130: At the Rettendon Turnpike roundabout, follow the tourist attraction flower symbols towards South Woodham Ferrers on the A132. At the Shaw Farm roundabout turn into Willow Grove/Creephedge Lane
