Saturday 4 January: Due to the yellow weather warning of snow and ice at RHS Garden Bridgewater, there is reduced access to pathways in the Learning Garden, Community Grow, Wellbeing Garden, Blue Peter Garden and Welcome Garden. All other areas of the garden, the Stables Cafe and the Welcome Building, including the Garden Centre, Gift Shop and Bridgewater Café, remain open as usual. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for your visit.
 
Sunday 5 January: Due to the amber weather warning of snow and ice, the gardens at RHS Bridgewater will be closed. The Welcome Building, including the Garden Centre, Gift Shop and Bridgewater Café, is expected to open at 12:00. Please check here for the latest update before travelling.

Booking garden visits

Due to ongoing high demand to visit RHS Garden Bridgewater, we’re asking all visitors, including members, to pre-book their visit to the garden. RHS members go free – Find garden admission prices here. Please book mobility scooters and wheelchairs in advance of booking a garden time slot to ensure availability (information below).

Please note: No pre-booking is required for the Garden Centre or Affiliated Societies using their 50% discount card.

Salford free Tuesdays

Until 18 May 2025, entrance to the garden is free for Salford residents every Tuesday. Pre-booking is required and proof of address for each resident must be shown on arrival. Each Tuesday, more than 1000 free tickets are available for Salford residents. We release tickets each week so if there is currently no availability please try again next week.

Visit RHS Gardens for £1

At the RHS, we’re keen to share the joy of gardening with as many people as possible. If you receive any of the following benefits, you’ll be able to visit RHS Garden Bridgewater for just £1:

  • Universal Credit
  • Pension Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

You can book £1 tickets for yourself and up to five people coming with you. This can be a mixture of children and adults. Only one member of the party needs to be receiving benefits. You will need to present proof of your benefits on arrival at the garden. Pre-booking is required.

Please note: This offer applies to standard garden entry only and is not valid on separately ticketed events such as RHS Glow.

The £1 ticket scheme is one of the many ways we are making our gardens more accessible. Up to two carers with a disabled visitor, schoolchildren on guided and self-guided school visits, under 5s, affiliated horticultural societies and community groups supported by the RHS Community Outreach programme can all visit RHS Gardens for free.

Wheelchair hire

A number of manual wheelchairs are available for hire. Please book your wheelchair in advance of booking a garden time slot to ensure availability.

Mobility scooter hire

Advanced booking of mobility scooters is highly recommended. Please book your scooter in advance of booking a garden time slot to ensure availability.
