This course covers:

  • The horticultural knowledge you will need to start growing in your school
  • Growing from seed, plant care and watering
  • Growing with the seasons

Course three: Planet-friendly Gardening

Gardening in an environmentally friendly way helps to protect nature while creating a successful school garden. This one-hour course will guide you through sustainable gardening practices that support plant growth, encourage wildlife and make the most of your existing plants.

This course covers:

  • Soil health, peat-free compost, mulching and no-dig methods
  • How to attract biodiversity into the school garden
  • Ways to make new plants from old through propagation techniques
