Learn a little essential botany and make a beautiful study page with botanical descriptions of plant details. You will draw a half dissected flower and learn the rules to follow to ensure it is scientifically correct. Knowing a little botany will improve your drawings and you won’t look at a plant in the same way again!  You will be given comprehensive notes to refer to during class and take home. A dissection kit is included in the course so that you can further your dissection studies at home.

During the three days, you will make accurate measured drawings and learn what botany to note when drawing a plant and flowers. Jackie will demonstrate how to dissect a flower and draw it accurately, and help with botany and structuring your page of studies during the workshop. A microscope and hand lenses will be available to see smaller parts. Dissecting a flower can be so enlightening!

Jackie has taught this workshop a few times and it has been very well received. She is an RHS Gold Medal winner and studied basic botany alongside botanist Liz Leech to complete her exhibition entry, realising how important this is for botanical artists. Jackie is self-taught and have been teaching for 8 years.
