The Lunar Garden

Get Started Gardens

The Lunar Garden is an atmospheric setting allowing visitors to enjoy outdoor living from day into night. Subtle light features make it possible for visitors to relax in the garden after dark without overwhelming the space with a flood of artificial light.

The garden takes inspiration from the moon with all elements in the garden on a lunar theme. Circular shapes are woven through the design; a winding gravel path, circle paving and planted beds representing the different phases of the moon.

Oriental and Western planting work together in tones of white and silver to suggest moonlight, complemented with splashes of green foliage. A rich tapestry of white flowering and silver foliage herbaceous plants features along the two undulating bamboo fences.

Much of the planting is drought tolerant and attractive to pollinators, while the structural trees and shrubs such as Acer, Pinus, Cornus, Osmanthus, Viburnum and bamboo bring an Oriental aesthetic with a relaxing sound and the breeze blows through them.
