Activities for families and children at RHS Tatton Park

Families discovered the power of plants, got hands-on, learnt something new and explored the wonderful world of gardens at RHS Flower Show Tatton Park

What did families enjoy at RHS Tatton Park 2022?

There was so much to see and do at this year’s RHS Flower Show Tatton Park (20 – 24 July 2022). Set in the spectacular grounds of Tatton Park in Cheshire, the show was the perfect summer’s day out for the whole family.

Families could explore the family trail, see beautiful gardens in bloom, tuck into delicious food, and head to Homestead for workshops – great for little ones and adults too.

Grow-your-own

At the School Allotments, local school children showcased their own fabulous plots and inspired visitors to grow their own bumper crop of fruit and veg.

Tree-mendous activities

Children identified tree leaves they spotted at the show using an activity sheet. There was ample chance to take home some crab apple seeds too, so visitors could have a go at growing their very own tree!

Garden adventures

The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust hosted Forest School activities, perfect for some nature-themed fun.

Seed sowing fun

The Scouse Flowerhouse ran a wildflower seed-sowing activity.

Activities for the whole family

Older children and adults found lots to do at RHS Tatton Park too.

Visitors learnt about the therapeutic benefits of herbs from The Herb Society, found out about composting with demonstrations from The National Allotment Society, discovered the night sky with author Lia Leendertz, and listened to author Jack Wallington as he discussed creating a productive garden.

Yummy food

Families could refuel while discovering RHS Tatton Park. Whether they wanted fish and chips, sweet treats or a drink and an ice cream, our food courts were dotted throughout the showground. There were vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options too.

Family-friendly spots to relax in could be found in one of the many seating areas – visitors set up a picnic or grabbed a bench.
