This easy to maintain planting scheme is inspired by a woodland floor during the bluebell season. Variation in plant form and foliage is set off by a restricted palette of flower colour in shades of blue and white to create a calm and relaxing assemblage. The architectural form and fresh green fronds of the lady fern gives some height to a planting dominated by gently spreading, easily managed ground covering plants. Mounds of arching periwinkle provide further contrast. Variation in leaf form and colour ranges from the bright green of Omphalodes to the burnished bronze-tinted dark purple leaves of bugle (Ajuga).
