RHS Chelsea Flower Show

The Water Saving Garden, sponsored by Affinity Water

The theme is water and the colour scheme is blue and white, amongst fresh textures of green foliage and a succulent living wall art

Cornus kousa

A statement multi-stem tree with clean white bracts that persist longer than flowers, followed by red fruits and maroon foliage in autumn. Small gardens need trees that will not overpower them, but give at least two seasons of interest.

Trachelospermum jasminoides

An evergreen climber with gorgeous scented which jasmine like flowers all summer long. Autumn and winter interest too, as the foliage often turns shades of burgundy.

Orlaya grandiflora

A light and airy umbellifer that is very delicate in pure white, provides a landing pad and nectar to hoverflies and other tiny insects crucial to the web of life.

Camassias

These large bulbous plants in shades of soft blue and white, are dramatic and elegant. They tend to like more moisture than other bulbs like tulips, and so can grow amongst other moisture loving plants like ferns.

Echeveria ‘Cubic Frost’

A striking blue grey succulent with geometrically arranged leaves. They are drought tolerant and will be happy with little care as part of the vertically planted ‘wall art’.
