The organisation behind A Space to Read Balcony Garden sponsored by Viking at RHS Chelsea 2025, explain their mission and aims
Viking was founded in 1997 with the vision that travel could be more destination focused and culturally immersive. Since then, Viking has grown to a fleet of more than 90 vessels, offering river, ocean and expedition voyages on all seven continents.
See A Space to Read Balcony Garden sponsored by Viking
Viking have been proud supporters of the RHS for many years, and this is the fourth year they have sponsored a Balcony Garden as they believe they provide great inspiration for how a small outdoor space can create a functional and interesting garden. The staterooms on Viking’s ocean ships have private verandas, so the balcony gardens align well and all Viking ships contain design elements which celebrate elements of gardens and a love of the outdoors.
The theme of the garden reflects Viking’s support of a range of literary events. Viking is the presenting sponsor of the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards
and supports Wimbledon BookFest. In 2024 Viking was the headline sponsor of the Highclere Castle Book Readers’ Awards, which gives readers recognition for their reviews. In line with its ongoing cultural partnerships, Viking is supporting The National Literacy Trust – an independent charity that empowers children, young people, and adults with the literacy skills they need to succeed.
