Down’s Syndrome Scotland

The organisation behind the Down’s Syndrome Scotland Garden at RHS Chelsea 2025, explain their mission and aims

Down’s Syndrome Scotland

The hope is that the garden design will help to ‘break down barriers’ and challenge many of the misunderstandings that members of the Down’s syndrome community face from society.

The garden provides a platform to champion and tell stories of the immense joy and positive qualities that a person with Down’s syndrome has so that society can provide inclusive pathways that will enable them to reach their full potential and enrich society as a whole.

The designers have created a garden design with the vision of providing a permanent and accessible ‘sense of belonging’ outdoor learning space for people with Down’s syndrome in Scotland that will help the charity form a re-energised ‘Movement for Change’ – enabling all people with Down’s syndrome in Scotland to truly fulfil their potential.
