The British Red Cross

The organisation behind The British Red Cross ‘Here for Humanity’ Garden at RHS Chelsea 2025, explain their mission and aims

The British Red Cross
“As well as remembering Henri Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross movement, the garden is a poignant thank you to all the Red Cross and Red Crescent staff and volunteers who dedicate their lives to supporting others. When crisis happens, our staff and volunteers often face great risks to be first on the scene to deliver life-saving aid. 2024 was one of the deadliest years for the organisation, with many staff and volunteers killed while helping others in Algeria, Ethiopia, Iran, Gaza and the West Bank, Israel and Sudan.”

“This will be the first garden for the British Red Cross and it’s an opportunity to provide the public with a greater understanding of our lifesaving work, highlighting the importance and strength of our neutrality in an increasingly complex and polarizing world.

“Our garden will be one of hope and we are incredibly excited to share this with our volunteers, supporters and the public.”
