Tom says: “Designing a show garden really tests you and focuses the mind. We have a build team that builds our gardens and for them, it also means they carry this level of focus and attention to detail into our private projects throughout the year. For me as a designer, it really tests me and of course, helps raise my profile so my clients know that they can rely on us to give them the best results.”
Tom’s tips to designing a container garden:
- Understand the scale of the space to help decide what plants should be used.
- Wrap the area in nature wherever possible and think of different heights throughout. Above head height, middle eyeline, knee height, and ground level.
- If you can make bespoke containers to fit your site, you can make almost any arrangement.
