Joshua started his career in horticulture working in the holidays as a 14-year-old at a large private garden in North London. After several years of self-employment in horticulture Joshua completed his RHS level 3 in practical horticulture, and set up Fenton Gardens ltd. Since the company’s formation in 2019 Fenton Gardens has won a Silver Merit at the Association of Professional Landscapers Awards 2023, Silver Merit at BBC Gardeners’ World live show 2023 for ‘Subaqua’, Silver, Silver merit and Gold at the APL awards 2024 and Gold at BBC Gardeners’ World live 2024 for ‘Lunatica’.

Joshua says: “I think the main advantage of designing at a Show is that you can invent the client that you want to work for. It’s very liberating to be able to autonomously make decisions so that something can be it’s best version of your vision with no compromise.”
