Hamzah-Adam Desai

Hamzah-Adam is a garden designer based in London. A graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, he spent 20 years working as a graphic designer. In 2008, on the advice of his doctor, he took up gardening to deal with his seasonal affective disorder.

This inspired him to retrain as a garden designer at Capel Manor College. He graduated in 2021 where he was awarded The Gardeners Company Prize for exceptional horticultural studies by the Worshipful Company of Gardeners.

With a firm grounding in design, Hamzah combines his love of gardening and plants with spatial design creating contemporary climate-friendly gardens that work with our fast-changing climate and enhance people’s mental and physical wellbeing.

In 2022, after graduating from college, Hamzah created his first show garden – Turfed Out – at RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival which was awarded an RHS Silver medal.
