Chris Reynolds

Meet the designer of The Safe Space Garden at RHS Flower Show Tatton Park 2024

Chris ReynoldsChris Reynolds

With an initial career in public service, Chris spent over a decade supporting victims of crime and domestic abuse. As well as being a front-line police officer, he also gained national recognition for his work in the homelessness sector. Chris’ transition into garden design and horticulture stemmed from personal experiences with trauma and mental health challenges. He realised that gardening had a significant impact on his recovery and resilience, and found solace in creating nourishing outdoor spaces both for himself, his family and friends.

After deciding to change career, Chris is a garden designer at Bridgeman Kent Ltd, crafting purposeful, practical and aesthetically captivating spaces. He hopes his story and garden inspire not only victims of crime to heal and look beyond their trauma, but also anyone seeking a career change to take the first steps toward making it happen.
