Tulips with different flower shapes

Tulip cultivars vary greatly in their flower shape. Growing a few different types can add variety and interest to your borders or containers. This list will help you choose those that will look good in your garden.

Double-flowered tulips (these have multiple layers of petals, often appearing like peony flowers)

Lily-flowered tulips (these have star-shaped flowers like those of lilies)

Fringed tulips (these have cut/frayed edges to the petals)

Parrot tulips (these have a sculpted appearance with puckered and twisted petals)

Viridiflora tulips (petals have a green-stripe along their length)
