Mint, in pots trial 2025–2026

Objectives and purpose of the trial

The RHS has not trialled mint (Mentha) before, so this is an opportunity to see how different cultivars, specifically
Mentha spicata (spearmint) and Mentha × piperita (peppermint), perform side by side in pots at RHS Bridgewater, Greater Manchester. The aim is to compare, record and display the merits of new and established mint cultivars for garden use and cultivation. Those that perform best will be awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
