Aeonium trial 2023–2025

Objectives and purpose of the trial

The purpose of this trial is to assess a range of Aeonium (tree houseleek) cultivars, which are currently available for ornamental use. As part of this dual trial at RHS Wisley, Surrey and Minack Theatre, Cornwall, the RHS Trials team aims to highlight the diverse range of Aeonium plants that can be grown and to raise awareness of this plant, which has recently experienced a surge in public interest. Those that perform best will be awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

  • Foliage quality
  • Overall impact

  • Weather tolerance
  • Disease and pest resistance
  • Ease of cultivation
