Planted in sunny borders, meadows, shady areas under trees or in containers, there are campanula in all shapes and sizes for different locations and situations in your garden.
Campanula can be used in naturalistic, prairie or perennial meadow planting and to give drifts of colour. Those with upright flower stems from 60cm (2ft) to 1.5m (5ft) tall are ideal and can be allowed to set seed and increase their display.
There are campanula that will thrive and flower well in shady borders. They will even grow well in dry conditions.
There are many tough, spreading campanula species and cultivars that thrive in crevices, on banks and walls or provide carpeting groundcover in sun or shade.
