Asters for cut flowers

Asters usually have strong straight stems, branching into a spray of flowers in a wide range of colours and sizes. Most asters are great for flower arranging. Don't forget the annual China asters (Callistephus) too. These are easy to raise on a windowsill or in a greehouse in spring, planting out in early summer, for a later summer display.
