rose 'Wedding Day'

Rampant, very large rambler rose about 9m tall, with relatively thornless bright green stems bearing glossy, mid-green leaves. Large trusses of richly fragrant, single, creamy-white blooms 2.5cm or more across with orange-yellow stamens fade to pale pink and open from yellow buds, in midsummer; raised at Highdown, Sussex 1950

How to grow

Cultivation

Grows best in full sun with fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. For best flowering apply a balanced fertiliser and mulch in late winter or early spring and a balanced fertiliser again in early summer - see rose cultivation. Tolerant of poor soil, shade and a north-facing aspect; suitable for climbing into trees

Propagation

Propagate by softwood cuttings in early to mid spring, hardwood cuttings in late summer to autumn or by chip budding in summer
