An upright evergreen shrub or tree to a height of 9m. The leaves are spiny and deep green, with creamy-white margins. After the clusters of white flowers in spring, heavy crops of large red berries are borne in autumn on female plants when there is a male for pollination

How to grow
Cultivation
Grow in well-drained soil in a sunny position. Although partial shade is suitable, variegated cultivars have better leaf colour in full sun
Propagation
Propagate by semi-ripe cuttings in late summer or early autumn or propagate by hardwood cuttings in January with bottom heat
