'Resi' is an upright shrub or small tree up to 5m high, with deciduous green leaves with three or five lobes, and large single flowers which are usually lilac-pink but sometimes white, in both cases with dark red centres and cream stamens. From midsummer to mid-autumn, bees may visit for pollen.

How to grow
Cultivation
Grow in neutral, well-drained soil in full sun, in a warm position such as a south-facing or west-facing wall to encourage flowering, and protect roots in winter with an organic mulch
Propagation
Propagate by softwood cuttings in late spring, by semi-ripe cuttings in summer, or by layering in spring or autumn; propagation for resale is prohibited without a licence
