An upright biennial, forming in its first year a mound of finely dissected, silver-hairy, glaucous green leaves. In its second summer, thick, upright or arching stems to 80cm tall are produced; they bear at their tips large, domed umbels composed of numerous pink-flushed white flowers. Makes a good cut flower
